Glorifying God · Making Disciples · Serving Our Neighbours
Every ministry and gathering at Southampton United Baptist Church flows from two convictions — our mission (what we do) and our vision (where we are going).
To glorify God by preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples of all people, nurturing believers through worship, fellowship, and Biblical teaching, and demonstrating God's love through compassionate service to our neighbours in Southampton, Cumberland County, and beyond.
We are a people sent — called to proclaim the good news that Jesus Christ saves, heals, and restores. Every sermon, every small group, every act of kindness is an expression of this mission.
To be a beacon of Christ's love and hope in Cumberland County — a church where people of all ages and backgrounds encounter the transforming power of God, grow into mature disciples, and are equipped to serve and share their faith boldly with the world around them.
We envision a congregation that is vibrant, multigenerational, and deeply rooted in God's Word — a community known for its grace, generosity, and genuine love for one another and for those who have yet to meet Jesus.
These foundational principles shape every decision, every programme, and every relationship in our church family.
We trust in the full authority of the Bible as God's inspired Word and build our lives on its timeless truths. Every aspect of our ministry is anchored in careful, expository Biblical teaching.
We cherish authentic, grace-filled relationships within our church family. We strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where every person — visitor or long-time member — feels valued, known, and loved.
Following Christ's example of servant leadership, we reach out to those in need with practical care, food, support, and a listening ear — both within our congregation and throughout our broader community.
We are committed to spiritual growth at every stage of life — from children's Sunday School to adult Bible studies and senior fellowship — equipping every believer to follow Jesus more faithfully each day.
We believe the Church exists not only for itself but for the world. We support local and global missions through prayer, giving, and hands-on engagement, joining God's redemptive work in all nations.
Worship is the heart of all we do. We gather each Sunday to honour God through song, prayer, and the proclamation of His Word — blending cherished hymns with contemporary expressions of praise.
Rooted in our Baptist heritage and connected to the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada (CBAC), we are intentionally pursuing several priorities as a congregation:
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
— Matthew 28:19–20 (The Great Commission)
The Great Commission is not merely a historical command — it is the living heartbeat of Southampton United Baptist Church. Everything we do flows from Jesus' call to go, make disciples, baptize, and teach.
Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning to church, or looking for a congregation to call home — you are welcome at Southampton United Baptist Church. Come as you are.
